Private vs group diving in Hurghada

The full-day group trip is great value at €60: two dives, lunch and transfers on a shared boat. A private trip changes three things.

Pace: longer surface intervals, slower dives, more time for photos.
Sites: the plan is built around your level and wish list instead of a mixed group. Experienced divers can ask about walls and drift sites; nervous or rusty divers get calmer, shallower reefs.
Attention: the guide works only with your group, which helps beginners, kids old enough to dive and refresher divers.

It's also the easiest way to keep a family together: divers dive, the others snorkel or relax on deck, all on one boat. Before the trip, we ask for each diver's certification level and number of logged dives. That isn't paperwork for its own sake: it is what lets the guide choose sites, depths and dive order that fit everyone in your group. The price is on request.

Which sites can a private trip visit?

Sites around Hurghada include the Giftun Islands, Abu Ramada and Gota Abu Ramada, El Fanadir, Carless Reef and Shaab El Erg. Tell us what you'd like to see and we'll check what's realistic for your experience and the forecast. Some sites need calm weather and experienced divers. Carless Reef, for example, is exposed and known for unpredictable currents, and Small Giftun is a deep wall usually dived as a drift. Wrecks such as Abu Nuhas are around 3–4 hours' sailing away, so they are normally a liveaboard destination; see our Red Sea diving safari. The final call on any site is made by the captain and guide on the day. A good request looks like this: date, number of divers, certification levels, logged dives, two or three sites you'd love to see, and your hotel. Tanks and weights are part of the private program, and diving equipment is included where your package says so. If you bring your own gear, tell us so we can price accordingly. Nitrox is not included by default; ask if you'd like it.

Is a private trip good for families?

Yes, especially when only some of the family dive. Everyone is on the same boat, the pace suits your group, and non-divers can relax on deck. Tell us the ages of any children so we can confirm what's possible under the dive center's safety requirements.
