Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about booking, pickup, diving, snorkeling and safety. Can't find yours? Ask us on WhatsApp.
Booking & payment
How do I book a trip with Divers Trips?
Choose your trip, date and number of guests on our website and pay online at booking, either a 30% deposit or the full amount. You receive a booking confirmation, and we confirm your pickup time. For trips marked 'On request', message us on WhatsApp first so we can confirm the price.
Are the prices on the website per person?
Most fixed prices are per person, for example €45 for the island snorkeling trips and €60 for full-day diving. The private speedboat (€250) is per boat and the El Gouna trip (€200) is per private trip. Trips marked 'On request' are priced for your date and group.
How and when do I pay?
You pay online on our website when you book, through Paymob, an Egyptian payment provider. At booking you choose a 30% deposit or full payment (100%). With a deposit, you pay the rest on the morning of your trip. You see the total before you pay.
Can I pay a deposit instead of the full price?
Yes. At booking you choose between a 30% deposit and full payment (100%). The deposit secures your booking, and you pay the remaining 70% on the morning of your trip. If you pay in full, nothing further is due on the day, except personal extras and any fees listed as not included.
Can I change the date of my booking?
Yes. You can change the date free of charge up to 24 hours before the trip, subject to availability. Private trips and bookings with special arrangements, such as safaris, must be changed or cancelled at least 48 hours before, and other conditions may apply. Message us on WhatsApp with your booking reference.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before the trip, with a full refund to your original payment method. Between 24 and 12 hours before, we keep 50% of the booking value. Less than 12 hours before, or if you do not show up, we keep 100%. Private trips and special arrangements need 48 hours' notice, and other conditions may apply.
How do refunds work?
Refunds go back to the payment method you used at booking. The refund starts once we have confirmed your cancellation. How long it takes to arrive depends on your bank or payment provider, so we cannot give a fixed number of days. Keep your booking reference handy when you write to us.
What happens if the weather or sea is unsafe?
If we cancel your trip because of weather or unsafe sea conditions, you can choose a free new date, a full refund, or a credit for another trip. If the trip goes ahead with a different route or different stops, that is not a cancellation and no refund is due. The captain makes the final call on the day.
Pickup
Is hotel pickup included?
Hotel pickup and drop-off in Hurghada are included on most trips. For parasailing and kite surfing, transfers depend on the selected package. The trip page lists what is included.
What time will I be picked up?
Pickup time depends on your hotel's location and the trip, and we confirm it after booking. Sunset safaris and sunset horse riding are timed around sunset, so their pickup time changes through the year.
How long does the driver wait at my hotel?
The driver waits 15 minutes after the agreed pickup time, so please be ready in the hotel lobby before then. If you do not show up, the trip is treated as a no-show and we keep 100% of the booking value.
My hotel is outside central Hurghada. Can you still pick me up?
Yes, on request. Send us your hotel name before booking. Pickup from hotels outside Hurghada may carry a fee, which depends on the distance and location and is agreed with you before your booking is confirmed.
Diving & PADI
Do I need a diving certificate for the full-day diving trip?
The trip is designed for certified divers, so bring your certification card. Beginners may join subject to the diving centre's requirements, and non-divers can come on the boat to snorkel.
What is the minimum age for a PADI course?
Under PADI standards, Junior Open Water Diver starts at 10 years old and the full Open Water Diver at 15, with depth limits for younger divers. Your instructor confirms eligibility, including the medical questionnaire, before the course starts.
What should I send to book a PADI course or private dive?
Your preferred dates, number of divers or students, ages, current certification, number of logged dives and hotel name. We then confirm the schedule and the final price.
Can I fly after diving?
Plan a dive-free gap before your flight. DAN recommends at least 12 hours after a single dive and 18 hours after multiple dives or several days of diving.
Snorkeling & sea trips
Will I definitely see dolphins at Dolphin House?
No. Dolphins are wild animals and sightings are not guaranteed. Our crew looks for them and follows the local marine-life rules: no touching, feeding or chasing. You still snorkel the reef and have lunch on board.
Is snorkeling equipment included?
Yes, snorkeling equipment and a snorkeling guide are included on our Orange Bay, Paradise Island, Giftun Island, Dolphin House and Hurghada snorkeling trips, together with lunch and soft drinks on board.
Can the itinerary change on the day?
Yes. Reefs, island stops and the order of the day depend on weather, sea conditions and the boat's daily schedule. The captain changes the plan when that is the safer choice.
Are marine park or island fees included?
Not always. Environmental, marine park or island fees may apply on some trips and are listed under 'not included' when charged separately. We confirm any fees when you book.
Safety & kids
Can children join your trips?
Children are welcome on most trips. Child prices and minimum ages depend on the trip and the operator's safety rules, and some activities such as quad biking, parasailing or diving have their own limits. Please send children's ages when you book.
I can't swim. Can I still join a boat trip?
Yes. You can enjoy the boat, the island and lunch, and tell the snorkeling guide before entering the water. For a reef view without swimming, choose the glass boat or submarine.
How do you keep guests safe?
Dives, private boats, parasailing, kite surfing, quad biking and horse riding start with a safety briefing, and life jackets are provided on our private boats. Routes and dive sites are chosen for the day's conditions, and activities like parasailing or kite surfing are postponed when wind or sea are not safe.
