Super Safari Hurghada – Desert Adventure

The Super Safari Hurghada is for people who want to do it all in one go. It combines a desert drive, a quad bike ride, Bedouin culture, a camel ride and the sunset in the Eastern Desert, and on selected packages it continues with a traditional dinner and evening entertainment. You are picked up at your hotel by safari vehicle and driven off-road toward the safari area. After a safety briefing you ride a quad bike on a designated desert route, then visit a Bedouin-style village for tea, ride a camel, and watch the sun go down over the mountains. It is the best pick for friends, active couples and families with older children. Quad biking has age restrictions, so tell us the ages in your group. If nobody wants to drive, the calmer Mountain Safari (€35) covers the scenery, tea and camel ride without the quad bike. Price on request, because it depends on the package you choose (for example with or without dinner and show). Message us and we will send the options.

What is included in a super safari in Hurghada?

"Super safari" is used by many operators in Hurghada, and the contents vary a lot, so it is worth knowing exactly what you are paying for. Always part of our Super Safari: hotel pickup and drop-off, safari transportation and the desert drive, a quad bike ride, a Bedouin village visit with traditional tea, a camel ride, the sunset, and a safari guide. Depends on the package: the traditional dinner in the desert camp and the evening entertainment (for example oriental performances, a Tanoura show or traditional music). We confirm food and entertainment before you book, so there are no surprises on the night. Not included: photos and videos, personal expenses, tips, optional services and activities that are not listed. Some listings online bundle buggies or jeeps into the same name. Quad biking safety: what to expect

Quad bikes are the highlight for most guests, and the part that makes some people nervous. Here is how it works on our safari.

• Briefing first. Before anyone rides, the guide gives a safety briefing and explains how to handle the quad.
• Designated route. You ride on a set desert route behind the guide, not wherever you like. The route and riding time depend on the program and on conditions that day.
• Follow the guide. Keep your distance from the quad in front, especially in dust, and stay on the track.
• Age limits. Quad biking has age restrictions set by the operator. Younger children only do the activities the operator allows.

Dress for it: closed shoes, long trousers, sunglasses and a scarf over your nose and mouth against the dust. If you have back or neck problems, are pregnant or have another health concern, tell us before booking: off-road riding is bumpy, and the Mountain Safari may be the better choice.

The evening in the desert camp

The second half of the Super Safari is slower. After the quad ride you visit a Bedouin-style village, drink tea, learn a little about desert customs and take a short camel ride. Then the light changes: the sun drops behind the Red Sea Mountains and the rocks turn orange and red, the best moment of the day for photos. On packages with dinner, the evening continues in the desert camp with a traditional meal, and on some programs entertainment such as a Tanoura show, the spinning dance with colourful layered skirts that is popular across Egypt, or traditional music. The desert cools quickly once the sun is down. Bring a light jacket, especially between autumn and spring, and a bottle of water. You are back at your hotel in Hurghada at the end of the evening; exact times are confirmed after booking. Vegetarian or have dietary needs?
