How do you choose a Hurghada excursion by traveller type?
Families usually pick an island boat such as Orange Bay, Paradise Island or Giftun Island, couples a private speedboat or sunset horse riding, certified divers the full-day diving trip, non-swimmers the glass boat or aquarium, and adrenaline seekers the Super Safari, quad biking or kite surfing.
Families with children
The island boats are the usual first choice: Orange Bay, Paradise Island and Giftun Island combine a snorkeling stop with beach time, lunch and soft drinks. For younger children add a calmer day: the glass boat or submarine, Jungle Water Park or the Grand Aquarium. Send children's ages when you book; child prices and age rules vary by trip.
Couples
A private speedboat (€250 per boat) means your own route and no crowd. On land, sunset horse riding or a private El Gouna day trip give a slower day.
Divers
Certified divers start with the full-day diving trip (two dives, €60) or a private dive boat. New divers begin with the PADI Open Water course; the liveaboard safari is for divers who want several days at sea.
Non-swimmers
You can still see the reef: the glass boat or submarine shows it through the hull, and the aquarium needs no water at all. On island trips non-swimmers enjoy the beach and boat; tell the guide before you get in the water.
Adrenaline seekers
Super Safari with quad biking, parasailing and kite surfing are the high-energy picks, all subject to wind and safety rules.
